The numerous Greek vases and other objects of art available in museums around the world have preserved images of a peculiar cult of the body of the ancient Greek, which included physical exercises, dousing with water, rubbing the body with incense and massage.
Ancient Rome. The Roman Empire, which subjugated the then East and West, borrowed from Greece various forms of art and knowledge, including the art of massage.
